From: Atlanta, Georgia, USA – came to Vijayawada for summer break
I am Saranya Gourisetti and my brother, Prem, and I came every single day for about a month at 9:30am and taught two batches of vedic students. The first batch consisted of 15 students who had lesser knowledge of English while the second batch of 10 students had a greater understanding of the English language. We were given a space to teach and a marker along with a white board.
They were taught basic english grammar and pronunciation which helps them speak fluently. Students were enthusiastic to learn and answer all questions. These classes helped the students gain confidence and express their views in English. Many students initially were quite nervous but now students are coming forward and speaking openly.
I feel very happy to be able to teach these students and get to know them. This has also been a great learning experiencing for me as I learned how a veda patasala works and how intelligent these students are. Furthermore, I am grateful for this opportunity given to me by Swamiji and encourage everyone to spend their free time volunteering.
